In the Cheshire Home in Lusaka, Zambia, disabled children are making determined efforts to live normal, independent lives. It’s a tough, daunting struggle and they respond with a courage that is, simply, heroic. At the same time, there are thousands of disabled people in the cities, villages and rural areas who find life an almost unberable burden without the same support, care and understanding.
